Quality Leader
Provide strong leadership within Climax to take our overall Quality to new heights….both through a strong focus on product quality as well as institutionalizing ISO process quality programs. Must be unstoppable, focused on how to “Wow the Customer”, hungry to grow, looking to create breakthroughs and passionate about driving quality improvements.
Essential Functions
- Holds responsibilities for all levels of quality assurance processes in production, ultimate accountability for final product quality prior to shipment to customers.
- Establishes new Quality Assurance and Control procedures for final assembled and tested product…ensuring 0% “escaping defects” and dramatically reduced warranty costs.
- Responsible for leading corporate-wide product quality improvement initiatives.
- Executes root cause analysis processes to continually improve product quality.
- Assigns resources and facilitates and/or personally directs continuous improvement activities/events focused on product quality.
- Establishes enterprise-wide systems to optimize supplier qualification and quality.
- Establishes controls and auditing for execution of supplier quality system.
- Champions ISO Certification and continued compliance. Coordinates maintenance and updates of ISO documentation, ensuring that all departments continue to maintain their process documentation and systems to ensure processes are being followed.
- Drives standardized processes within enterprise-wide systems.
- Coordinates red team and external audits of ISO procedures.
- Leads and executes improvements in quality systems in cooperation with colleagues responsible for optimizing productivity through lean practices.
- Leads root cause problem solving process. Identify, train & engage others in root cause problem solving processes to discover best solution/improvements. Share solution and findings with other groups to enhance learning throughout organization….utilizing electronic communication systems where possible.
- Responsible for leading Corrective Action Board (CAB) focus in continuously improving processes to address root causes of past defects.
- Work within all business entities to design common work standards, quality control charts/systems, and other elements of superior practices to aid continuous improvement.
- Communicates the status of continuous improvement, completes analysis evaluating opportunities for improved quality to corporate leadership team and regularly update organization's implementation plans to update progress and identify gaps and supporting solutions.
- High energy attitude with an exceptional vision for opportunity to supervise exempt and non-exempt levels of technical experts in QA/QC processes.

Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and/or Quality. MBA a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership within Quality/ISO processes.
- Minimum 3 years direct supervisory experience.
- Proven success in driving quality improvements within an organization.
- First hand experience with ISO processes (experience in helping an organization obtain certification a plus)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Excellent trainer with ability to present information to different sized groups throughout all levels of the organization
- Track record of successful and sustainable employee engagement initiatives through coaching, influencing and career development.
- Demonstrated ability in leading an operation through a transition or transformation, delivering under difficult situations, and adapting to new work environments with positive and professional attitude.

Machine Tool Builder II
Performs various electro-mechanical assembly functions such as soldering, assembly of cables and wiring harnesses, re-work of printed circuit boards, and other electrical assembly activities. Will assemble prototype products, build special machines and assemble standard machines. This position requires an organized individual with hands on skills whose experience is as diversified from building PCBs to assembling gear housings.
Essential Functions
- The employee is responsible for the quality of their work and is experienced at inspection and familiar with other quality assurance techniques.
- Able to assemble all of Climax’s standard products.
- Analyzes assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plans machine building operations.
- Verifies conformance of parts to pick list and blueprints.
- Modifies tooling and fixturing to support assembly processes.
- Aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together. Custom fits as necessary to conform to blueprints and/or customer specifications.
- Performs various electro mechanical assembly functions such as soldering, assembly of cables and wiring harnesses, re-work of printed circuit boards, and other electrical assembly activities.
- Works closely with engineering to test products (by hand or mechanically), diagnose, and resulve problems that occur during assembly and repair.
- Removes high spots, and smoothes surfaces to improve product cosmetics.
- Uses precision measuring tools to verify alignment and tolerrances of moving parts.
- Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify function, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
- Will train and mentor other assemblers of less skill and/or experience.
- Follows the production schedule and associated work orders and sales orders to determine assembly requirements.
- Searches for and recommends ways to improve assembly methods and procedures that could potentially lower production costs and/or improve product quality/reliability.
- Willingness to understand, embrace and lead others in the concepts of lean manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Needs to be proficient with Climax procedures and processes.
Education/Experience
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year colege or technical school; and four to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experirence.
Machinist
Performs various machining processes on a variety of machine tools. The machinist is responsible for the quality of their work and is experienced at inspection and familiar with other quality assurance techniques.
Essential Functions:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following on CNC and/or Manual Machinery. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs all routine machine tool setups.
- Will operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, hones, etc.
- Initiates process improvements including fixture design, tooling upgrades and works with other support team members to follow through on implementation.
- Performs all quality and measurement functions as related to the machining of components.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
- Performs any secondary operations as necessary to complete the process in its entirety.
- Assists all cell team members as needed to ensure that team goals are met.
Education/Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Manufacturing Support Specialist / CNC Programmer
Provides Design for Manufacturability support for design teams as well as planning and creating routings and numerical control programs to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions
- Answer and respond to incoming calls in a professional manner.
- Respond to and perform follow up on e-mail inquiries and customer requests.
- May be required to do outbound calls to follow-up on customer inquiries.
- Investigate and perform research on product detail, order status, customer information, etc. as needed to clarify needs and situations. Forward information to appropriate salespersons or distributors.
- Verify information is correct, make changes, additions and corrections as needed. Investigate variances and resolve with updated or corrected data. Verify pricing, part numbers, etc.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, sorting and distributing mail.
- Prepare international sales invoices, export documentation and related materials. Generate shipping documents and include CE related paperwork as needed. Create a variety of hand documents, as required for international sales transactions. Maintain sales order files. Deliver documents to shipping department as needed.
- Process orders. Coordinate activity with sales representatives, verify order accuracy, monitor for updates, changes, etc. Enter orders for machines and for parts orders. Conduct follow up on open orders, backorders, ship dates, etc. Determine freight arrangements with customers.
- Provide a variety of administrative support services to the VP of Sales, North American Sales Leader and Sales Representatives across the sales organization.
- Assist with various projects as assigned.
Education/Experience
Demonstrated experience with clerical responsibilities, and professional use of the phone. Must be comfortable contacting customers via telephone for follow-up requests using a variety of systems.
